On April 9th, 2011 Salt Spring Island Fire/Rescue accomplished a true milestone in successfully completing the Fire Underwriters Survey (FUS) Superior Tanker Shuttle Service Accreditation Testing requirements.

Since then, many Salt Spring Island Fire Protection District (SSIFPD) Ratepayers whose residential address falls within the coverage zone - and who weren't previously considered to have been in a "hydranted" area - have benefitted from reductions in their Insurance Premiums.

It's been estimated that well over $1,000,000.00 in Insurance Premium savings could be realized by SSIFPD ratepayers because of this accreditation.

We're proud to provide our community with this opportunity for savings; in fact, only two other Fire Departments in BC have passed the rigorous testing required, so please forgive us if it sounds like we're tooting our horn!

You should take a look at our Superior Tanker Shuttle Service Accreditation page to view the coverage map and associated documents and call your Insurance Company.
